About The Vegan Cook

I’m influenced by both the morality and health benefits of veganism.  I don’t want to contribute to the suffering of animals or to the environmental hurt caused by the meat trade; additionally, I can’t imagine that eating antibiotic-fed, unnaturally fattened, and sedentary animals can possibly be healthy.  And I’m distrustful of those “organic” and “cage-free” labels at the grocery store.  For more information on the negative effects on the world of using animals for food, see this PETA page.

I live in New York City, where fortunately vegan grocery stores and restaurants are not hard to find, with my fiance and handsome orange cat.  I work in footwear product development at a large fashion company, and I enjoy dancing, reading, studying Judaism, going to the theater, playing golf, and shopping for elegant modern and vintage clothing.

I also have a second blog, where I comment on my process of conversion to Judaism:  http://jewishjourney.wordpress.com/
